Japan Trip 2010
Day 2
TBS, Asakusa and Akihabara
Weather forecast: Rain. And it rained the whole day.
First stop, Akasaka for TBS. This time we only bought one Juui Dolittle folder!
Lots of places to eat near TBS, we decided on sushi.
Tip: If wasabi burns your brain, be sure to look between the fish and the rice.
After lunch, to Asakusa's Kaminarimon Gate.
Btw, to navigate around Tokyo's subway, unleash recommends these apps: trains.jp (no connection required) and hyperdia (online).
Celeb lookalike spotting number two, Mizobata Junpei... pulling a rickshaw for tourists in Asakusa. This one by unleash. I missed it, he ran off too quickly.
There are rows of shops leading up to the temple, selling snacks and souvenirs. We ate a bag of taiyaki [500Y] (those fish filled red bean, the ones Yamapi ate in Nobuta) and a stick of dango [120Y]. They taste super on a cold and rainy day! Need a hot drink? Head to McDonalds - a latte costs 190Y.
Shopping at Akihabara, then back to Ikebukuro where our hotel was. Seibu at Ikebukuro Station is a great place to get bento meals - prices are reduced before the store closes. So shopping for dinner at 7.30pm is a good time :)

Now's the fun part... with souvenirs and bags of food, we ran to our hotel from the station in the rain lol. Swallowed a bunch of pills to shoo away fever and flu. No problem for Day 3!
