Inoue Mao becomes student for a day

25th April 2010

Inoue Mao and her co-star Jonathan Sherr from the movie 'Darling wa Gaikokujin' visited the University of Tsukuba Elementary School on 25th April. In a tie-up with MEXT (Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology), Inoue and Sherr took part in a classroom activity to promote the study of the English language which will become part of the curriculum of Japan's elementary schools from 2011.

Inoue sat together with 39 students from Grade 6 and Sherr took his place as a teacher, quizzing the class on the theme of food. The boy seated next to Inoue was so nervous, he was looking down the whole time. Inoue finally managed to extract a smile from him when she explained some of the answers to him.

Inoue said,"It has been a long while since I took part in a class, it was fun. I'm surprised at how much vocabulary everyone knows. Girls, if you want to get a wonderful darling (like Sherr), study hard for English!"

I know Mao wants to promote her movie but that last line from her made me cringe ・・・(=ェ=`;)

By the way, it was Jonathan Sherr's birthday on 24th April and Mao sent him flowers. Drop by his blog and leave a birthday message :)

Inoue Mao Staff Diary
25th April 2010

25th April 2010 09:50

A few days ago, we did an interview with 'PECHA', a magazine about dogs!!

Before, Mao-san has mentioned in the blog how much she loves PECHA! And the publisher who came across that asked her to come down with her dog!

Shooting included a dog cafe and a dog run♪
Hug was a little nervous at first with so many people around, but in the end they managed to take cute photos of Mao-san and Hug together!

Finally, photos with Hug after a day of hard work!!

PECHA goes on sale on 30th June♪
Look forward to it★

A dog run, or dog park, is a social place for dogs to run freely.

GW Special Project♪
22nd April 2010 12:38

Did you watch 'another sky' which was aired the other day?
Another sky for Mao-san was Los Angeles.
Of all the places she has gone overseas, it's the city that has left her with the deepest impression...

At 19, when she went to LA to shoot for her photobook, she took some photos at the famous local bakery and cafe 'Amandine Cafe' too.
The French Toast here wins full marks for its volume, is really delicious and a favourite of Mao-san♪

With Mao-san in the photo is Kazu-san, a pastry chef who surprised Mao-san because he still remembered her last visit!
At Disneyland, a place she has long yearned for, she took a photo with Mickey!!

Rather than souvenirs, let's get on the rides!! At ST Hirahayashi-san's request, Mao-san, who is really bad with rollercoasters, actually got on the Space Coaster!

ST Hirahayashi-san and I got on first and all through the ride, we could hear a mingling of Mao-san's crying, yelling and laughter behind us (*laugh*)
But after the ride, Mao-san and us were really fired up
Disneyland is truly a magical land♪

And here's the GW Special Project!!
★Presenting selected souvenirs from Mao-san★

Lip balms from "the blues JEAN BAR" that we visited in 'another sky' too!!

They were beside the cash register. The shape and colours are really cute★

EXILE's Takahiro x Maki

EXILE appeared as guests on an episode of Ocha no Mizu Hakase (TBS) that aired on 20th April. When talk came round to having girls screaming out for them at concerts, Takahiro recalled an incident. He said that one time, he was singing and walking along the runway, looking at the faces in the crowd when he noticed a really cute girl that pretty much bowled him over. She seemed so pure, he said. She looked a little embarrassed though and she didn't go 'kyaa' or anything but just looked at him intently. He described her as having a Horikita Maki vibe. During a break, he told Hiro (leader of EXILE and president of talent agency LDH) that there was a really cute girl and he should scout her. Hiro chipped in that this was the first time that Takahiro had ever said that. Takahiro then said that it'd be better to get a staff member to chase her down quick.

After the concert ended, the staff came back and told him that she was the real thing, Maki herself! He said now that he thinks back about it, he feels so embarrassed. The clip's about 10 minutes in. Video by dear-hiro.
