Mei-chan no Shitsuji
Suspension of Softsubs

Hello everyone,

I know how much love, squeals of delight and screams of Ayaka!*% Mei-chan no Shitsuji generates, but we are regretfully suspending the softsubs. Once the subs were released on D-addicts and with Kai on board, we were prepared to bring out weekly releases. However, we will not tolerate nitwits using our subs for streaming and profit. If anyone should be paid, it should be me, since I have two butlers to upkeep :|

Please do not hurl insults, beg or threaten hunger strikes on us. Our stand is straightforward. If our subs are not used for streaming, we will put out the subs.

I totally respect your decision but would like to ask why make many many grateful people pay for the stupidity and ill manners of a few? Why not put in place a system for reporting these people to you if they are found?

Thanks. But the truth is, a site like mysoju will probably not take the files down.

But thanks for the first two episodes.

what u say is true... the only way to stop this people would be if all of us... who download the subs and on't distribute them... report this people and help unleashthegeek... then i think we could stop this.. right? i could spend some time looking for your subs on internet and helping you with this people !!!

It's nice to think that they would obey, but reality is.. they're not going to stop streaming. There's so many sites like that out there.

Well. Goodbye Mei-chan then.

I'm so sad and angry, why do people upload videos that are restricted and why they do not show respect for the subbers wishes?

i totally agree with you and understand your decisions, i really hope that they can stop streaming your subs...

thank you so much for the hard work until now!!! i really appreciated^^

Oh no... I would suggest making your subs available only to certain, known people-- such as through a locked LJ blog or something but I guess that might not solve the problem either.

Thanks for your work thus far, though. I was really getting into this series so I might just watch the RAWs if there aren't any other subgroups interested in this one.

this is indeed the saddest news for today :(
i was really enjoying your releases, and enjoy mei-chan and the butlers.
but we all have to respect your decision.
but to think that the issue of streaming websites will never be settled.it's quite sad knowing i won't be able to enjoy mei-chan for this season.
i hope you could reconsider and help the fans who depend greatly on your hardwork.
thanks for everything.

Gosh, I'm so sad to hear this piece of bad news though I understand where your are coming from.

Just to check, you said that if your subs are not used for streaming, your will sub it. Does it mean if we somehow manage to get those people who upload your subs onto streaming sites to take them down, your will continue to sub it?

I wouldn't like it either if it happened to me, so it's natural for you to take such a decision. Thank you so much for the subs so far. <3

dramacrazy.net has been stealing a lot of subs. Most of the versions they use for their dramas are from fansubbers who explicitly forbid uploading to streaming sites.

I was a bit frustrated so I sent them hate mail via site feedback this morning x__x

Wow! That's horrible that they're using your subs for profit, considering how much work has been put into those. But yeah as others have said... I'm saddened by the fact we won't be getting anymore subs but we have to respect your decision... and I'm very thankful for your work on the first 2 episodes! Hopefully though something can be done

1st of all I'd like to thank you for subbing those dramas (I've been able to understand it more...my japanese is still very weak...i don't find much time to study), sriously I really appreciate your hard work^^
I've to say that I'm sad that mei-chan will not be subbed anymore, but i totally respect your decision.
I hope ppl won't do this stupid mistake in taking credit for other ppl's work, it's really unfair!!!!!!

This thoroughly sucks. I was really enjoying this series. But it's absolutely understandable!! The reality is that mysoju and other crap sites are not going to take down the videos. I know other fansubbing groups have fought them for years!

Thank you for the 2 subs though.

i used to be part of a sub team too, and i totally know how you feel.

someone posted a topic on dramacrazy a while ago, regarding this, and like five minutes later, it was deleted.

that's just terrible, how they disregard and disrespect subbers in general.

Is there somewhere I can read your streaming policy? I can understand why you'd be angry that people aren't following your rules, but I don't get in general why you don't want them streaming. I can only watch most things streaming as I don't have my own computer (so I can't download).
Could someone point me in the right direction?
