We've moved (ノ^-^)ノ'`*:;,。・★

unleashthegeeks.blogspot.com

It was getting harder to organize everything in this old blogger format and converting it is just too much of a hassle. And also it holds too many good memories to change :) So we've decided to leave things here as it is and move to the creatively named unleashthegeeks. See you there.

All my bags are packed and I'm ready to go

Actually I'm carrying one backpack. The memories of dragging the luggage bag up and down staircases from last year are still fresh. This time, we'll be travelling more than 1000km from the south up. I'm a little worried about winter as being an Equatorian, I sleep with a comforter even at 25 degrees Celsius. I've got enough heat packs to tape all over my body if it comes to that though.

For the first time in years, I won't be welcoming the New Year at either of my two regular spots. The kitchen or my room. (I know what you're thinking, at least it's not in the basement!) Me and grumpy will do our countdown in Tokyo :) I'll be posting updates on Twitter as we go along. じゃあね!

Mizobata Junpei, "My Work is My Love"

30th November 2011

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

On the 29th, actor Mizobata Junpei (22) attended the PR event for FOX's drama 'Terra Nova - Future Genesis' in Tokyo. He is a big fan of Steven Spielberg's science fiction works. His favourite is 'Back to the Future'. "If I ever get to work with Director Spielberg, a weak character in a comedic role would be great," he said. This year, he'll be busy with work even during the Christmas period. "I don't have that special someone. Maybe next time when my work schedule is more flexible."

Japan Trip 2010
Day 12

From Shin-Osaka, back to Tokyo

From our hotel, we took our maiden taxi ride to Shin-Osaka Station. We asked the hotel receptionist how much it'd cost, and she assured us that it's definitely less than 1500Y. She called the cab for us and in the end we paid 1060Y for a smooth and comfortable journey.

You can get last minute souvenirs on the platform.

Bought a bento in the train. 1100Y, similar prices to those in the stations. I love how everything is just so neat!

Got a glimpse of Mount Fuji :-)

Back in Tokyo, we were headed for Shinjuku Washington Hotel.
BE WARNED!! They say the hotel is 8 mins from the station. Probably 8 mins if you're brisk walking without carrying anything. It's a direct underground passage, but with turns and OMG stairs. If you're carrying huge luggages like we were, be prepared to work those muscles.

We finally made it to the hotel and checked in. This hotel is just... we don't recommend it. People were queuing up to check in, receptionists weren't efficient. So if you have a choice, stay somewhere else.

View from our room.

After resting, out to Tokyo Station to shop and have dinner.

Worth the trip and admission fee, the temple itself was such a sight. And sunset means dinner!

Dinner was at a really interesting place, made for train enthusiasts. Can't recall where exactly, but it's within walking distance from the temple. We had 2 meals for 2650Y, and there's free flow of drinks.

The entrance (there's a few dining options in the enclosed area):

Worth every yen. A cup of coffee can set you back 400Y in Kyoto, here we had great food and a few cups of coffee for 1200Y. It's all you can eat :)

After lunch, we went to Kitano Tenmagu Shrine (entrance 600Y, inclusive of a snack and all-u-can drink hot green tea).
