Yamapi in new summer drama
"Flying in the sky doctor" NEWS ・ Yamapi ! Fuji TV new drama takeoff in July
It was revealed on the 22nd that Yamashita Tomohisa (23) from NEWS will play the main role as a Code Blue Emergency Helicopter Doctor starting July (after 10) on Fuji TV. The setting is the latest medical care on a helicopter, he will play a flight doctor cadet and attending doctor. There are plans to use a real helicopter during filming. Yamapi will certainly become the "doctor flying the sky".
Ahead of the crank in at the end of this month, Yamashita said "I'll calmly and seriously, play as close as possible, the role of a doctor who has an influence on people's lives. I'll do my best in order to get to know about lifesaving at the forefront and rescue with a helicopter for the television audience."
Also appearing are Aragaki Yui (19), Toda Erika (19), Higa Manami (21) and Asari Yousuke (20).

From the official site, I think his character's name is read Aizawa Kousaku. After acquiring 2 years experience in the local hospital emergency room, he joins the emergency and critical centre. He's young but skilled and has self-confidence and he's always looking to polishing his skills. To achieve that, he's the type who does not mind facing discord or friction with others.

"空飛ぶドクター"ＮＥＷＳ・山ピー！フジ系新ドラマ７月発進
ＮＥＷＳの山下智久（２３）が７月スタートのフジテレビ系「コード・ブルー －ドクターヘリ緊急救命－」（木曜後１０・０）に主演することが２２日、分かった。ヘリコプターを使った最新医療の現場を舞台に、フライトドクター候補生と指導医の姿を描く。実際のヘリを使った撮影も予定されており、山ピーは、まさに"空飛ぶドクター"になる。

昨年の同局系ドラマ「プロポーズ大作戦」や今年の主演映画「クロサギ」など、俳優業でノっている山下にとって今回が初の医師役。本格的な医療ドラマの出演も初めてだ。
「ドクターヘリ」とは、救急救命治療を必要とする患者のもとに、医療設備を搭載したヘリコプターで医師や看護師が駆け付け、現地で治療を開始する"究極の医師デリバリー"システム。昨年６月に、ドクターヘリの全国配備を目指す特別措置法案が可決されており、ドラマは社会情勢を反映したタイムリーな内容になる。
劇中では実際のヘリに乗り込み、治療を施すという緊迫したシーンもあり、山下は機中で迫真の演技を見せなければならない。俳優としてさらなるステップアップとなる作品になりそうだ。
今月下旬のクランクインを前に山下は、「命にかかわる一番近い場所にいる医者という役を冷静に、そして真剣に演じ、視聴者の方にヘリコプターを使い命を救う最先端の救命を知っていただけるように頑張りたい」とコメントを寄せた。
その山下扮するフライトドクター候補生、藍沢耕作を取り巻く共演陣に、新垣結衣（１９）、戸田恵梨香（１９）、比嘉愛未（２１）、浅利陽介（２０）ら今をときめく若手人気俳優たちがそろった。
増本淳プロデューサーは「若者から圧倒的な支持を集める旬なキャスト陣が、"ドクターヘリ救命"という最新医療をテーマにしたドラマに真剣に向き合っていきます。大空をかける命の前線基地につどった若き医師たちの奮闘を、スピード感と臨場感あふれる映像で届けます」と早くも自信を見せる。
若手を鍛えるフライトドクター役の柳葉敏郎（４７）をはじめ、児玉清（７４）、りょう（３５）、杉本哲太（４２）、寺島進（４４）、勝村政信（４４）らの出演も決定。ベテランのサポートもあり、厚みのあるドラマになりそうだ。

フライトドクターを目指す白石恵役の新垣は「専門的な部分で不安はありますが、役の人間らしさや成長していく様をきちんと表現したい」と気合が入る。同じく候補生・緋山美帆子役の戸田も「初めての医療もの。専門用語のせりふや医者の知識や動きなど大変だと思いますが、悔いの残らないようぶつかりたい」と誓った。
同・藤川一男役の浅利も「自分にできることをすべて出し尽くすつもりで精いっぱい演じたい」、フライトナース・冴島はるか役の比嘉は「私自身、ドクターヘリの役割の重要性を学んでいきたい」と意気込んでいる。

主演には、NEWSのメンバーのみならず、『野ブタ。をプロデュース』『クロサギ』、そして昨年春のヒットドラマ『プロポーズ大作戦』などドラマでも大活躍。今年３月公開の映画『クロサギ』では映画初主演も果たし、その人気を不動のものとした山下智久さん。
山下さんが演じるのは、地方の救命センターで２年間の経験をつんだのち、フライトドクターになるために翔北救命救急センターにやってきた藍沢耕作。若いながらも自らの腕に強い自信を持っている藍沢は、とにかく腕を磨くことに貪欲で、そのためなら多少の軋轢もいとわないタイプ。しかし、その技術への執着はどこか屈折した人間性を感じさせ…。

I'm probably one of the few who want NO romance whatsoever in this drama at all. I still haven't gotten over how much I disliked Prodai. So no Yamapi/Aragaki or Yamapi/Erika.
Just try to convince me that you can be a fake doctor, Yamapi, never mind the romance bit. -

this should be interesting..I'd love to watch this one just simply because there's Yamapi init and I couldn't care less if he could act it out or not cos he's Yamapi..hehe
but yes, I don't want any romance cos I still think Maki-chan deserves him best(if it ever works out between them I'd be the happiest fan!)hahaha
